Holy See

While the Vatican is a tiny city-state surrounded by Rome and ruled by the Holy See, which heads the Catholic Church worldwide, the Holy See also owns property outside its borders, in the city of Rome, on Italian territory. The Vatican and these “extraterritorial” properties are its only two UNESCO sites.
